As a rule, we believe in only buying for our home the things we love. I remember our living room being vacant of sofas for years until Mom was able to afford the ones she LOVED. She still has those sofas to this day, and although they have had a few new outfits over the years, they are still her favorites. The same rule holds true for our shop. Unless we both LOVE something, we simply don’t buy it. (Incidentally, the times we have broken that rule have left us moving those things about the store for way too long!)

The logic is that we may end up having to keep it, so we better love it. But as it goes, when we trust our instincts, our favorite things seem to become the favorite things in our shop, and really don’t stay with us long at all.
